
Senior Library Assistant

- Assist in the daily operations of the library, including shelving, cataloging, and processing new materials.
- Provide excellent customer service to library patrons, including answering questions and assisting with research needs.
- Train and supervise junior library assistants and student workers, ensuring proper procedures and protocols are followed.
- Maintain the organization and appearance of library materials and spaces, including shelving, displays, and study areas.
- Assist in developing and implementing library policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with university and industry standards.
- Collaborate with library staff to plan and execute events and programs to promote literacy and learning within the university community.
- Oversee the circulation of library materials, including checking in and out, renewals, and managing fines and fees.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with library equipment and technology.
- Keep accurate records of library usage and statistics for reporting purposes.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in library services, and make recommendations for improvements or changes.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Serve as a liaison between the library and other departments or organizations within the university.
- Assist with collection development and maintenance, including identifying and recommending new materials to add to the collection.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Library Director.
Bachelor's Degree In Library Science Or Related Field
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Working In A Library Or Academic Setting
Strong Knowledge Of Library Cataloging Systems And Electronic Databases
Excellent Customer Service And Communication Skills
Ability To Supervise And Train Junior Library Staff Members.
