We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Library Assistant to join our team. As a Senior Library Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our library and providing excellent customer service to our patrons.   1. Assist in the daily operations of the library, including shelving, cataloging, and processing new materials.
  2. Provide excellent customer service to library patrons, including answering questions and assisting with research needs.
  3. Train and supervise junior library assistants and student workers, ensuring proper procedures and protocols are followed.
  4. Maintain the organization and appearance of library materials and spaces, including shelving, displays, and study areas.
  5. Assist in developing and implementing library policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with university and industry standards.
  6. Collaborate with library staff to plan and execute events and programs to promote literacy and learning within the university community.
  7. Oversee the circulation of library materials, including checking in and out, renewals, and managing fines and fees.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with library equipment and technology.
  9. Keep accurate records of library usage and statistics for reporting purposes.
  10. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in library services, and make recommendations for improvements or changes.
  11. Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  12. Serve as a liaison between the library and other departments or organizations within the university.
  13. Assist with collection development and maintenance, including identifying and recommending new materials to add to the collection.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Library Director.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Library Science Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Working In A Library Or Academic Setting

  • Strong Knowledge Of Library Cataloging Systems And Electronic Databases

  • Excellent Customer Service And Communication Skills

  • Ability To Supervise And Train Junior Library Staff Members.
