- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal regulations and guidelines related to research activities at GWU.
- Oversee and monitor the university's research activities to ensure that they are conducted in an ethical and responsible manner.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal and external inquiries related to research integrity and compliance.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to promote a culture of research integrity and responsible conduct.
- Stay current on all federal regulations and guidelines related to research and make recommendations for policy changes as needed.
- Provide guidance and training to faculty, staff, and students on research compliance and ethical standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and organizations to stay informed about best practices and industry standards.
- Conduct investigations and audits of research activities to ensure compliance with federal regulations and guidelines.
- Work closely with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to ensure ethical review and approval of all research projects.
- Collaborate with other departments and offices within the university to ensure seamless integration of research compliance into all aspects of university operations.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of all research activities and ensure that all necessary approvals and documentation are in place.
- Provide regular reports to university leadership on the status of research compliance and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Serve as a resource and advisor to faculty, staff, and students on complex research compliance issues.
- Oversee the management of conflicts of interest and ensure that all potential conflicts are disclosed and managed appropriately.
- Represent GWU at external conferences and meetings to enhance the university's reputation and stay informed about the latest developments in research integrity and compliance.
Advanced Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Law, Ethics, Or Research Administration.
Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Experience In Research Compliance And Integrity, Preferably In A Higher Education Institution.
Strong Understanding Of Federal Regulations, Policies, And Guidelines Related To Research Compliance, Including But Not Limited To, Human Subjects Research, Animal Research, Export Controls, And Conflict Of Interest.
Demonstrated Leadership And Management Skills, With Experience In Developing And Implementing Compliance Programs And Training For Diverse Stakeholders.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate And Build Relationships With Faculty, Staff, And External Partners To Promote A Culture Of Research Integrity And Compliance.
