- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall residential experience for students at GWU.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of campus living, including residence hall operations, facilities, and programming.
- Collaborate with other departments and campus partners to create a welcoming and inclusive living environment for students.
- Provide leadership and direction to the residential life staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
- Develop and manage the budget for campus living, ensuring responsible allocation of resources.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures that promote a safe and respectful living environment for all students.
- Foster a sense of community and belonging among residents through programming and engagement initiatives.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, addressing any concerns or issues related to campus living.
- Stay informed about trends and best practices in student housing and incorporate them into the residential experience at GWU.
- Collaborate with other university departments to ensure that the needs of students living on campus are met.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with residential students, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and data related to campus living, and use this information to inform decision-making and improve services.
- Represent the university and the campus living department at meetings and events as needed.
- Uphold the university's mission and values, promoting a culture of academic excellence and personal growth among students.
- Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of campus living programs and services, making adjustments as needed.
Bachelor's Degree In Higher Education, Student Affairs, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Residence Life Or Student Affairs, With At Least 2 Years In A Supervisory Role.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Student Development Theory And Its Application In A Residential Setting.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Diverse Team And Collaborate With Various Campus Departments.
Experience With Budget Management, Program Development, And Crisis Response Within A Residential Environment.
