In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials around our warehouse yard.   1. Operate forklifts, tractors, and other warehouse vehicles to move materials around the warehouse yard.
  2. Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while operating vehicles.
  3. Conduct regular maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition.
  4. Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and other transportation vehicles.
  5. Keep accurate records of materials moved and their locations within the warehouse yard.
  6. Communicate with warehouse team to coordinate material movement and prioritize tasks.
  7. Follow instructions from supervisors and managers to complete tasks efficiently.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized warehouse yard to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  9. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
  10. Follow all company policies and procedures regarding material handling and vehicle operation.
  11. Meet productivity goals and deadlines set by management.
  12. Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
  13. Attend training sessions and meetings to stay updated on safety protocols and company policies.
  14. Represent GEODIS in a professional manner at all times.
  15. Continuously strive to improve processes and increase efficiency in material movement.

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): A Warehouse Yard Driver At Geodis Must Possess A Valid Cdl To Operate Heavy Machinery And Transport Goods Within The Warehouse Yard.

  • Experience Operating Forklifts And Other Heavy Equipment: Candidates For This Role Should Have Prior Experience Operating Forklifts, Pallet Jacks, And Other Warehouse Equipment To Safely And Efficiently Move Inventory Within The Yard.

  • Knowledge Of Warehouse Safety Protocols: As A Warehouse Yard Driver, Safety Is Of Utmost Importance. Candidates Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Warehouse Safety Procedures And Be Able To Follow Them Diligently To Prevent Accidents And Injuries.

  • Physical Fitness And Strength: This Job Requires Physical Stamina And Strength As Warehouse Yard Drivers Often Have To Lift And Move Heavy Objects. Candidates Should Be In Good Physical Condition And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.

  • Attention To Detail: Warehouse Yard Drivers Must Be Detail-Oriented And Able To Accurately Track And Record Inventory Movements Within The Yard. Attention To Detail Is Also Crucial For Safety, As Drivers Must Be Aware Of Their Surroundings And Potential Hazards At All Times.
