  1. Provide administrative and clerical support to the unit, including but not limited to answering phones, scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and organizing paperwork.
  2. Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
  3. Work closely with healthcare professionals to assist in coordinating patient care and ensure timely communication.
  4. Manage and update patient records, including entering and updating information in electronic medical records systems.
  5. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care.
  6. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information.
  7. Act as a point of contact for patients and their families, providing assistance and answering questions as needed.
  8. Assist in managing inventory and ordering supplies for the unit.
  9. Keep track of and report any issues or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  10. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  11. Demonstrate a positive and compassionate attitude towards patients, their families, and coworkers at all times.
  12. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations of Genesis HealthCare and the healthcare industry.
  13. Handle any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the unit supervisor or management.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Unit Ward Clerk Should Possess A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education To Understand And Fulfill The Administrative Duties Of The Job.

  • Experience In Healthcare Setting: Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Unit Ward Clerk Role, Is Highly Desirable. This Will Ensure A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures.

  • Proficiency In Computer Skills: Unit Ward Clerks Are Required To Maintain Records, Update Patient Information And Communicate With Other Healthcare Professionals Through Various Computer Systems. Hence, Proficiency In Computer Skills, Including Knowledge Of Electronic Medical Records, Is Essential.

  • Excellent Organizational And Communication Skills: A Unit Ward Clerk Should Have Excellent Organizational Skills To Maintain And Update Patient Records Accurately. They Should Also Have Effective Communication Skills To Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Attention To Detail: It Is Crucial For A Unit Ward Clerk To Pay Attention To Detail To Ensure All Patient Records Are Accurate And Up To Date. They Should Also Be Able To Identify And Report Any Discrepancies In Patient Records To The Concerned Healthcare Professionals.
