Job Description

As an Infection Preventionist, you will play a crucial role in preventing and controlling infections within our healthcare facilities.   1. Develop and implement infection prevention and control protocols and procedures in accordance with CDC guidelines and industry best practices.
  2. Conduct regular audits and assessments of infection control practices and identify areas for improvement.
  3. Work closely with healthcare providers and staff to ensure proper implementation and adherence to infection control protocols.
  4. Monitor and track infections within the facility, including tracking trends and identifying potential outbreaks.
  5. Educate and train staff on infection control protocols and procedures, including proper hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and environmental cleaning.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare facilities to share best practices and coordinate infection control efforts.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with local health departments and participate in infection control committees and meetings.
  8. Stay up-to-date on current infection control trends and research to continually improve and update protocols and procedures.
  9. Investigate and report any suspected or confirmed cases of communicable diseases or outbreaks to appropriate authorities.
  10. Serve as a resource for patients, residents, and families on infection prevention and control measures.
  11. Maintain accurate and organized records of all infection control activities and reports.
  12. Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, management, and outside agencies regarding infection control issues.
  13. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to infection control.
  14. Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response related to infectious diseases.
  15. Adhere to and promote all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Train Staff On Infection Control Protocols And Procedures.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Public Health, Or A Related Field.

  • Certification In Infection Control (Cic) Through The Certification Board Of Infection Control And Epidemiology (Cbic).

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Infection Prevention And Control, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Current Infection Prevention Practices, Guidelines, And Regulations, Including Those From The Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (Cdc) And The Occupational Safety And Health Administration (Osha).
