You will work closely with healthcare providers, coding specialists, and administrative staff to maintain and manage electronic health records.To be successful in this role, you must have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.   1. Organizing and maintaining patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  2. Collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information.
  3. Reviewing and auditing medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  4. Communicating with coding specialists and administrative staff to resolve any discrepancies or issues with medical records.
  5. Ensuring the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  6. Implementing and maintaining electronic health record systems.
  7. Staying up-to-date with changes in medical coding and terminology.
  8. Training and educating staff on proper medical record documentation procedures.
  9. Overseeing the release of medical records to authorized individuals or organizations.
  10. Maintaining knowledge of state and federal regulations related to health information management.
  11. Assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to health information management.
  12. Conducting quality assurance reviews to identify and address any areas for improvement.
  13. Collaborating with other departments to ensure accurate and complete billing and coding.
  14. Participating in meetings and trainings related to health information management.
  15. Maintaining a professional and positive attitude while representing Genesis HealthCare.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.

  • Certified Health Data Analyst (Chda) Or Registered Health Information Administrator (Rhia) Credential.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Health Information Management, Preferably In A Long-Term Care Or Skilled Nursing Facility Setting.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Regulations Related To Health Information Management, Including Hipaa And Hitech.

  • Strong Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Lead And Manage A Team Of Health Information Management Professionals.
