Dietary Aide

As a Dietary Aide, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent care to our residents by preparing and serving nutritious meals. - Prepare and serve meals to residents according to their dietary preferences and restrictions.
- Ensure all meals are prepared and served in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with meal planning and menu development, taking into consideration residents' dietary needs.
- Monitor food and supply inventory and notify supervisor when items need to be restocked.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient meal service.
- Assist with the set-up and clean-up of dining areas before and after meal times.
- Interact and communicate respectfully with residents and their families, addressing any concerns or special requests.
- Document and report any changes in residents' appetites or dietary needs to the appropriate staff.
- Participate in training and education programs to stay updated on food safety and nutrition guidelines.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards residents, coworkers, and visitors.
- Follow all safety protocols and report any safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Dietary Aide At Genesis Healthcare Must Possess A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Demonstrate Basic Educational Proficiency.
Experience In Food Service Or Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience In A Food Service Or Healthcare Setting Is Preferred, As It Demonstrates The Ability To Work Within A Team And Handle Food Safely And Efficiently.
Knowledge Of Food Safety And Sanitation: A Thorough Understanding Of Food Safety Principles And Sanitation Practices Is Essential For A Dietary Aide, As They Will Be Handling And Preparing Food For Patients And Residents.
Good Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Work Well With Others Is Crucial For A Dietary Aide, As They Will Be Interacting With Patients, Residents, And Other Staff Members On A Daily Basis.
Physical Ability To Perform Job Duties: A Dietary Aide Must Be Able To Stand For Long Periods Of Time, Lift And Carry Heavy Objects, And Perform Tasks That Require Bending, Reaching, And Manual Dexterity. Physical Stamina And Strength Are Important Qualifications For This Role.
