Activity Assistant

As an Activity Assistant at Genesis HealthCare, you will play a vital role in providing our patients with meaningful life enrichment activities in a warm and friendly environment. The required qualifications for this position include the following: • High School Diploma or equivalent• Previous experience in a healthcare setting and/or working with geriatric or special needs populations• Ability to plan, organize and implement activities for a variety of age groups• Understanding of therapeutic activities and their benefits• Excellent communication and customer service skills• Current CPR certification• Ability to maintain an organized and clean work environment

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement creative and engaging activities for patients of all ages and abilities.
2. Establish and maintain strong relationships with patients, family members, and staff.
3. Monitor patient participation in activities and ensure safety at all times.
4. Ensure proper documentation of patient activities and progress.
5. Provide compassionate and helpful support to patients and families during activities.
6. Assist with the development of individualized plans of care for assigned patients.
7. Ensure a clean and organized work environment and maintain necessary supplies.
8. Uphold professional standards of behavior and confidentiality at all times.
9. Abide by all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
10. Attend regular staff meetings and in-service trainings.
