  1. Develop and implement strategies to shape transportation-related public policy at the local level.
  2. Monitor and analyze local regulatory and legislative developments that could impact the automotive industry.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local government officials, community leaders, and industry partners.
  4. Advocate for General Motors' interests and priorities in local policy discussions and decision-making processes.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of public policy efforts with overall business goals and objectives.
  6. Identify opportunities for proactive engagement and advocacy on emerging issues related to transportation and mobility.
  7. Provide guidance and support to local teams on navigating complex political environments and building strong community relationships.
  8. Represent General Motors at public events, meetings, and conferences related to transportation and public policy.
  9. Prepare and deliver presentations and written materials to communicate General Motors' positions and recommendations on policy issues.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in public policy, and make recommendations for adapting and evolving General Motors' approach.
  11. Lead and mentor junior public policy team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  12. Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of local public policy initiatives, and make recommendations for improvement and optimization.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience In Public Policy Or Government Relations, Preferably At The Local Level.

  • Strong Understanding Of Local Government Structures, Policies, And Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Relationship-Building Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Engage With Local Government Officials And Community Stakeholders.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Advocating For And Implementing Public Policy Initiatives.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Political Science, Public Policy, Or A Related Field. A Master's Degree Is Preferred.
