  1. Lead and manage the biocompatibility team at GE Healthcare, providing direction, guidance, and mentorship to team members.
  2. Conduct and oversee biocompatibility testing on medical devices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  3. Drive innovation and contribute to the development of new and improved biocompatibility testing methods and techniques.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance, to ensure timely and successful completion of projects.
  5. Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
  6. Utilize expertise in biocompatibility testing to provide technical support and guidance to other teams within the organization.
  7. Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in biocompatibility testing, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  8. Actively participate in the development and implementation of company-wide policies and procedures related to biocompatibility testing.
  9. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration within the biocompatibility team.
  10. Represent GE Healthcare in external forums, conferences, and meetings related to biocompatibility testing and medical device development.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Biomedical Engineering Or Related Field: A Principal Scientist, Biocompatibility Should Have A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Biomedical Engineering Or A Related Field, Such As Biotechnology Or Biochemistry. This Advanced Degree Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Understand The Complex Biological Interactions Between Medical Devices And The Human Body.

  • Extensive Experience In Biocompatibility Testing: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 7-10 Years Of Experience In Conducting Biocompatibility Testing For Medical Devices. This Includes Knowledge Of Iso 10993 Standards, Fda Regulations, And Other Relevant Guidelines.

  • Strong Understanding Of Materials Science And Biomaterials: A Principal Scientist, Biocompatibility Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Materials Science, Including The Properties And Characteristics Of Different Biomaterials Used In Medical Devices. This Knowledge Is Crucial In Selecting Appropriate Materials For Biocompatibility Testing And Ensuring The Safety Of The Device.

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Ability To Analyze Complex Data, Identify Potential Issues, And Propose Effective Solutions Is Essential For A Principal Scientist, Biocompatibility. This Role Often Involves Troubleshooting And Optimizing Biocompatibility Testing Methods, So Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills Are Crucial.

  • Leadership And Project Management Experience: As A Principal Scientist, Biocompatibility, One Will Be Expected To Lead And Manage A Team Of Scientists And Technicians. Therefore, Previous Experience In A Leadership Role And Strong Project Management Skills Are Necessary Qualifications For This Position. This Includes The Ability To Plan, Coordinate, And Execute Multiple Projects Simultaneously While Ensuring Quality And Timely Delivery.
