
Offshore Wind Authorization Engineer
General Electric is looking for an experienced and skilled Offshore Wind Authorization Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work in a cross-disciplinary team to develop and execute authorization plans for offshore wind projects from initial site selection through construction and commissioning. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders in a dynamic environment. A successful Offshore Wind Authorization Engineer at General Electric must possess a combination of technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills to ensure projects are completed on-time and on-budget. They must also have a strong understanding of the permitting and regulatory requirements associated with wind farm deployments. The ideal candidate must have a passion for renewable energy and a commitment to helping our planet become a cleaner, more sustainable place. Qualifications:• Minimum of 5 years of experience in offshore wind authorization engineering or related field• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or other related field• Experience with relevant permitting and regulatory requirements associated with wind farm deployments • Strong knowledge of the design and construction of offshore wind turbines• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to work in a cross-disciplinary team environment• Project management experience • Ability to travel to and work at offshore wind farms
Responsibilities: • Develop authorization plans for offshore wind projects from initial site selection through construction and commissioning. • Ensure projects are completed on-time and on-budget. • Stay up-to-date on relevant permitting and regulatory requirements associated with wind farm deployments. • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents. • Provide excellent written and verbal communication to stakeholders. • Work collaboratively in a cross-disciplinary team environment. • Manage projects, as needed. • Travel to and work at offshore wind farms, as needed.
