
Export, Jurisdiction & Classification Specialist
General Electric is seeking an experienced Export, Jurisdiction & Classification Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a “can do” attitude and a passion for ensuring compliance with export regulations. The Export, Jurisdiction & Classification Specialist will play a critical role in the export compliance operations within a fast-paced, constantly-evolving global business environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of making informed decisions in the area of export control regulations, classification and jurisdictional issues.To be successful in this position, the candidate must possess an in-depth understanding of US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and knowledge of the evolving US sanctions regulations. The candidate must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. A Bachelor's degree or higher in International Business, Political Science, International Relations or related field is required. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess compliance with US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Assess US sanctions regulations for applicability and impact on export operations.
- Research and classify products according to export control classification numbers (ECCNs) and jurisdictional requirements.
- Review and analyze shipping documents for accuracy and compliance with export regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure export compliance.
- Serve as the primary contact for export inquiries and provide guidance on export control regulations.
- Monitor and report on changes to export regulations, and provide guidance on how to adjust operations in response.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with export regulations.
- Participate in regular training and educational sessions on export compliance.
