  1. Lead and drive scientific excellence within the Development Science team at Genentech.
  2. Continuously review and assess the current drug development processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing innovative solutions.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement scientific strategies for drug development.
  4. Stay updated on the latest scientific advancements and technologies relevant to our drug development efforts.
  5. Foster a culture of scientific excellence by providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external scientific experts and collaborators.
  7. Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards in all scientific activities.
  8. Contribute to the development and execution of research and development plans.
  9. Participate in the evaluation and selection of potential new drug candidates.
  10. Communicate scientific progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
  11. Provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure timely and successful completion of drug development milestones.
  12. Continuously monitor and analyze data to identify potential risks and propose mitigating strategies.
  13. Represent Genentech at scientific conferences, meetings, and other events.
  14. Act as a key contributor in shaping the scientific direction and vision of the company.
  15. Mentor and develop junior team members to build a strong scientific talent pipeline for the organization.
  16. Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure alignment and integration of scientific excellence initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In A Scientific Field, Such As Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Or Pharmacology.

  • At Least 5 Years Of Experience In The Biotechnology Or Pharmaceutical Industry, With A Focus On Drug Development.

  • Proven Track Record Of Leading And Managing A Team Of Scientists, Including Setting Goals, Providing Guidance, And Evaluating Performance.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Drug Discovery And Development Processes, Including Pre-Clinical Studies, Regulatory Requirements, And Clinical Trials.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Cross-Functional Teams And Present Scientific Data To Diverse Audiences.
