Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Principal/ Senior Principal Scientist in Computational Chemistry to join the research team at Genentech. You will be responsible for developing and executing research strategies that align with the company’s mission to discover and develop novel therapeutic agents. As a Principal/ Senior Principal Scientist in Computational Chemistry, you will be expected to lead a team of scientists in the design and characterization of small molecules for the purpose of drug discovery, utilizing a variety of computational approaches and software platforms. Your research will be at the forefront of the rapidly advancing field of computational chemistry and will involve the development of novel methods and approaches to optimize the performance of small molecules.To be successful in this role, you must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Computational Chemistry, or a related field, with at least 5-7 years of experience in the field of computational chemistry. Additionally, you should possess experience in computational chemistry methodologies, including molecular mechanics, quantum mechanics, and machine learning. You should also have experience in the development of novel computational chemistry methods and approaches, as well as a demonstrated track-record in drug discovery research.
