Bachelor's Degree In Chemistry Or Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In Chemistry Is Essential For An Intern To Be Successful In A Discovery Chemistry Position At Genentech. This Degree Should Provide A Solid Foundation In Organic And Analytical Chemistry Principles.
Laboratory Experience: Previous Experience Working In A Laboratory Setting, Either Through Coursework Or Internships, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Shows That The Candidate Has Practical Skills And Knowledge In Handling Chemicals And Operating Lab Equipment.
Familiarity With Drug Discovery Process: A Basic Understanding Of The Drug Discovery Process, Including Target Identification, Lead Optimization, And Structure-Activity Relationship (Sar) Analysis, Is Important For An Intern In Discovery Chemistry At Genentech. This Will Allow The Candidate To Contribute Effectively To Ongoing Projects.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: Interns In Discovery Chemistry Will Be Expected To Analyze And Interpret Experimental Data, Troubleshoot Issues In Experiments, And Propose Solutions. Therefore, Candidates Should Possess Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Excel In This Role.
