Job Description

Performs professional legal services in the preparation and litigation of a variety of child support matters; and performs related work as required. Represents the Department in less complex issues involving child support cases, including establishing paternity, establishing child support and medical support orders, and enforcement of those orders. Interviews litigants and witnesses in regard to parentage and child support matters. Studies, interprets, and applies laws, court decisions, and other legal authorities in the preparation of cases and briefs. Prepares pleadings, judgments, reports and other necessary correspondence in connection with civil child support actions, trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
