  1. Prepare surgical equipment and supplies for procedures, ensuring they are sterile and in proper working condition.
  2. Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures, anticipating their needs and providing necessary instruments and supplies.
  3. Monitor and maintain a sterile field during surgeries to prevent infections and ensure the safety of patients.
  4. Anticipate potential complications and respond quickly and effectively to assist medical staff.
  5. Handle and care for surgical specimens according to established protocols.
  6. Communicate effectively with surgeons and other medical personnel to ensure smooth and efficient procedures.
  7. Maintain accurate records and documentation of surgical procedures.
  8. Keep abreast of new techniques and equipment in the field of surgery.
  9. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program: Candidates Must Have Completed An Accredited Surgical Technology Program To Ensure They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Job Duties.

  • Certification As A Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst): Candidates Must Hold A Current Certification From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa) As A Cst To Demonstrate Their Competency In Surgical Technology.

  • Experience In A Hospital Setting: Previous Work Experience In A Hospital Setting, Particularly In A Surgical Department, Is Preferred To Ensure Familiarity With Hospital Protocols And Procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Equipment And Instruments: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Equipment And Instruments, Including Their Names And Functions, To Assist With Surgical Procedures.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Role Of A Surgical Technologist Can Be Fast-Paced And Requires The Ability To Work Efficiently And Effectively Under Pressure. Candidates Should Possess Strong Time-Management And Multitasking Skills To Succeed In This Role.
