1. Develop and implement individualized recreational therapy plans for patients based on their needs and interests.
2. Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and activities to promote physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.
3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
4. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
5. Create a safe and inclusive environment for patients to participate in recreational activities.
6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
7. Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in recreational therapy to continuously improve treatment approaches.
8. Adhere to all ethical and professional standards as outlined by the American Therapeutic Recreation Association.
9. Participate in departmental meetings and trainings to enhance skills and knowledge.
10. Provide support and guidance to patients and their families to help them cope with and adjust to their current health situation.
11. Maintain all equipment and supplies used in recreational therapy sessions.
12. Act as a liaison between patients and community resources to promote ongoing engagement in recreational activities.
13. Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere for patients, families, and visitors.
14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing new programs or services.
15. Follow all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
