Patient Access Representative

As a Patient Access Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients and effectively manage all aspects of patient access. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience in patient access, customer service, or a related field. You should also demonstrate outstanding organizational and communication skills, as well as an ability to remain calm under pressure. An Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field is preferred. Responsibilities:

1. Greeting and registering patients upon arrival, verifying and updating patient information in the hospital’s computer systems.
2. Verifying insurance coverage and sorting out any discrepancies.
3. Collecting payments and copayments from patients.
4. Answering patient inquiries and providing information regarding hospital services.
5. Scheduling patient appointments and ensuring prompt follow-up.
6. Assisting in the coordination of patient admissions and transfers.
7. Maintaining accurate patient records.
8. Resolving patient complaints in a timely and professional manner.
9. Complying with hospital policies and procedures while ensuring patient privacy.
10. Assessing patient eligibility for financial assistance programs.
