- Provide emotional support and counseling to cancer patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' social, emotional, and financial needs in order to develop individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with medical teams to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Connect patients and their families to appropriate community resources and support programs.
- Assist patients with navigating insurance and financial resources, including coordinating with insurance providers and applying for financial assistance.
- Provide information and education to patients and families about cancer treatment, side effects, and coping strategies.
- Advocate for patients' rights and needs within the healthcare system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop treatment plans.
- Stay current on developments in the field of oncology and social work in order to provide the best possible care for patients.
Master's Degree In Social Work (Msw) From An Accredited University.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Oncology Setting.
Knowledge And Understanding Of The Psychosocial Impact Of Cancer On Patients And Their Families.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Provide Emotional Support And Counseling To Patients And Their Families.
Familiarity With Community Resources And Support Services Available For Cancer Patients.
