  1. Perform surgical technologist duties in the operating room, including preparing and maintaining the sterile field, passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon, and assisting with surgical procedures.
  2. Serve as a mentor and guide to other surgical technologists, providing support and guidance as needed.
  3. Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control policies and procedures.
  4. Maintain and organize surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper functionality and availability.
  5. Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and prepare for surgical procedures, including reviewing patient charts and obtaining necessary supplies.
  6. Participate in the training and orientation of new surgical technologists.
  7. Continuously update knowledge and skills related to surgical technology through ongoing education and training.
  8. Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless coordination during surgical procedures.
  9. Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  10. Provide excellent patient care and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  11. Assist in the evaluation and selection of new surgical supplies and equipment.
  12. Act as a resource for surgical team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in implementing changes to improve patient outcomes.
  14. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all surgical procedures.
  15. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Franciscan Health and promote a positive and professional work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Surgical Technologist, With Demonstrated Leadership Skills.

  • Current Bls (Basic Life Support) Certification.

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures, Instrumentation, And Equipment.

  • Ability To Mentor And Train New Surgical Technologists, As Well As Effectively Lead A Team In A Fast-Paced Surgical Environment.
