
Genetic Counselor
At Franciscan Health, we are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Genetic Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate for this role will have a thorough understanding of genetic counseling and be able to provide individualized advice to patients and their families. We are looking for someone who is able to provide comprehensive genetic counseling services, including diagnosis, risk assessment, support, and education.The successful applicant should have a Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling or equivalent, be a board certified and registered Genetic Counselor, and have a minimum of two years of experience in an accredited clinical genetics program. They should also be organized and efficient, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work closely with other members of the health care team.If you are a compassionate and knowledgeable professional, looking to make a difference in people’s lives, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive genetic counseling services including diagnosis, risk assessment, support, and education.
- Maintain an understanding of current genetic counseling methods, research, and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families in order to provide individualized advice.
- Collaborate with other health care professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in research and professional development activities related to genetic counseling.
- Monitor patient progress and maintain accurate records.
- Adhere to ethical standards established by the profession and Franciscan Health.
