- Provide financial counseling services to patients, including explaining insurance coverage, payment options, and financial assistance programs.
- Develop and implement financial plans for patients based on their individual needs and circumstances.
- Communicate with patients and their families about financial responsibilities and assist in resolving any financial concerns or issues.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections processes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, government programs, and payment regulations to accurately advise patients.
- Utilize financial software and systems to track and process patient payments, refunds, and adjustments.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Assist patients in completing necessary financial forms and applications for assistance programs.
- Educate patients on financial resources and options available to them for medical expenses.
- Work closely with insurance companies and other third-party payers to advocate for patients' financial needs.
- Collaborate with other departments within the healthcare facility to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Continuously evaluate and improve financial counseling processes to enhance patient satisfaction and financial outcomes.
- Attend trainings and stay updated on changes in healthcare laws and regulations related to financial counseling.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and reports for auditing purposes.
- Uphold the values and mission of Franciscan Health and promote a positive image of the organization.
Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Financial Counseling, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Healthcare Billing And Insurance Processes.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills For Effectively Counseling Patients On Financial Matters.
Ability To Analyze And Interpret Financial Data To Provide Accurate And Helpful Recommendations To Patients.
