  1. Perform accurate and timely electrocardiogram (EKG) testing on patients.
  2. Follow established procedures and protocols for obtaining and recording EKGs.
  3. Monitor and troubleshoot EKG equipment to ensure proper functioning and accuracy of results.
  4. Ensure patient comfort and safety during EKG testing procedures.
  5. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding EKG results.
  7. Document and report any abnormalities or concerns observed during EKG testing.
  8. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols while performing EKG testing.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated with current EKG technology and procedures.
  10. Assist with other duties as assigned, including maintaining EKG equipment and supplies.
  11. Demonstrate a strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and precise EKG readings.
  12. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor with patients and their families.
  13. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Valid Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Society Of Phlebotomy Technicians (Aspt) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha) As A Certified Ekg Technician.

  • Experience: Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As An Ekg Technician In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Cardiac Anatomy And Physiology: A Thorough Understanding Of The Structure And Function Of The Heart, As Well As The Ability To Recognize And Interpret Abnormal Ekg Readings.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Must Also Possess Compassion And Empathy For Patients Undergoing Ekg Procedures.

  • Technical Competence: Proficiency In Operating And Maintaining Ekg Machines And Equipment, As Well As Knowledge Of Various Ekg Procedures And Protocols. Basic Computer Skills And The Ability To Accurately Document And Record Ekg Results Are Also Required.
