High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For An Ed Technician At Franciscan Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Math, Science, And Communication Skills Necessary For The Job.
Current Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Ed Technicians Are Required To Have Current Bls Certification To Provide Immediate Care To Patients In Emergency Situations. This Certification Must Be Obtained From An Accredited Organization, Such As The American Heart Association.
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Ideally, Candidates For An Ed Technician Position Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Clinic. This Experience Will Provide Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures, As Well As Familiarity With Working In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
Ability To Multitask And Work Under Pressure: Ed Technicians Must Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks At Once And Remain Calm Under Pressure. This Includes Being Able To Prioritize Tasks, Communicate Effectively With Other Healthcare Professionals, And Provide Care To Patients In Critical Situations.
Flexibility In Working Hours: Emergency Departments Operate 24/7, So Ed Technicians Must Be Willing To Work Rotating Shifts, Including Nights, Weekends, And Holidays. This Requires Flexibility And A Willingness To Work In A Fast-Paced And Ever-Changing Environment.
