- Prepare and maintain operating room before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Sterilize and maintain surgical equipment and instruments.
- Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide necessary supplies and instruments.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique in the operating room.
- Prepare and position patients for surgery.
- Manage and monitor patient vital signs during surgery.
- Ensure the proper handling and labeling of surgical specimens.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to facilitate a smooth and efficient operation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and follow infection control procedures.
- Provide excellent patient care and comfort before, during, and after surgery.

Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program: Candidates Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Surgical Technology, Which Typically Includes Classroom Instruction As Well As Clinical Experience.
Certification From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa): Candidates Must Have A Current Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Certification From The Nbstsa, Which Requires Passing A National Exam.
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment: Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Surgical Procedures And Be Familiar With The Instruments And Equipment Used In The Operating Room.
Ability To Anticipate Surgeon's Needs: A Certified Surgical Technologist Must Be Able To Anticipate The Needs Of The Surgeon During A Procedure, Such As Handing Instruments And Supplies Without Being Asked.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Surgical Procedures Involve A Team Of Healthcare Professionals, And A Certified Surgical Technologist Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate And Work With Others In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
