  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and industry standards.
  2. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine appropriate courses of action.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely and efficient resolution of equipment issues.
  4. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
  5. Monitor equipment inventory and order necessary supplies and parts.
  6. Stay current on industry developments and advancements in technology to ensure equipment is up-to-date and functioning properly.
  7. Train and educate healthcare staff on proper use and maintenance of medical equipment.
  8. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations when working with equipment.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  10. Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding equipment status and any issues that may arise.
  11. Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients and staff.
  12. Proactively identify potential equipment issues and recommend solutions to prevent downtime.
  13. Collaborate with vendors and external service providers as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Biomedical Engineering Or Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In Biomedical Engineering Or A Related Field Is Essential For A Biomedical Technician Position At Franciscan Health. This Degree Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Understand And Maintain Various Medical Equipment.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Prior Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Clinic, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. It Demonstrates An Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Maintaining Medical Equipment In A Fast-Paced Healthcare Environment.

  • Certification In Biomedical Technology: Many Employers, Including Franciscan Health, Prefer Candidates Who Have Obtained Certification In Biomedical Technology From An Accredited Organization, Such As The Association For The Advancement Of Medical Instrumentation (Aami).

  • Knowledge Of Medical Equipment And Technology: A Biomedical Technician Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Various Types Of Medical Equipment And Technology Used In A Healthcare Setting. This Includes Knowledge Of Troubleshooting, Repairing, And Maintaining Medical Devices, As Well As Familiarity With Industry Safety Standards.

  • Strong Problem-Solving And Communication Skills: As A Biomedical Technician, You Will Be Responsible For Diagnosing And Solving Complex Technical Issues With Medical Equipment.
