  1. Provide leadership and direction to the department team, setting clear expectations and goals for performance.
  2. Train and mentor team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional customer service.
  3. Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and taking corrective action when necessary.
  4. Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and meet department targets.
  5. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and product knowledge to be able to provide expert advice to customers and team members.
  6. Ensure the department is well-stocked and visually appealing, following merchandising and inventory management guidelines.
  7. Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner, striving to resolve any issues to the satisfaction of the customer.
  8. Collaborate with other department leads and store management to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
  9. Maintain a safe and clean working environment, enforcing company policies and procedures.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement, suggesting new ideas and initiatives to enhance the customer experience and drive sales.
  11. Act as a role model for the team, displaying a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for the brand.
  12. Assist with scheduling and staffing needs, ensuring adequate coverage for the department at all times.
  13. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to, loss prevention, cash handling, and employee code of conduct.
  14. Complete administrative tasks, such as tracking sales and inventory, and submitting reports as required.
  15. Participate in training and development programs to enhance leadership and management skills.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: A Department Lead At Foot Locker Should Possess Excellent Leadership Qualities, Including The Ability To Motivate And Guide Team Members, Delegate Tasks Effectively, And Make Sound Decisions For The Department.

This Will Allow Them To Effectively Train And Educate Team Members, As Well As Assist Customers In Finding The Right Products For Their Needs.

  • Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial For A Department Lead, As They Will Need To Communicate With Team Members, Customers, And Upper Management On A Daily Basis. This Includes Clear And Concise Verbal Communication, As Well As Written Communication For Reports And Documentation.

  • Time Management And Organizational Skills: A Department Lead Should Be Able To Prioritize Tasks And Manage Their Time Effectively In A Fast-Paced Retail Environment. They Should Also Have Strong Organizational Skills To Maintain The Department's Inventory, Schedules, And Other Important Documents.
