Job Description

In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of our campus facilities.   1. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of campus facilities, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
  2. Perform routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces.
  3. Empty and dispose of trash and recycling.
  4. Stock and replenish supplies in restrooms and other designated areas.
  5. Operate cleaning equipment and machinery, such as floor buffers and carpet cleaners.
  6. Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate department.
  7. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  8. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with students, faculty, and staff.
  9. Keep track of cleaning supplies and request restocking as needed.
  10. Follow established cleaning schedules and ensure all assigned areas are cleaned thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  11. Keep track of and report any damages or repairs needed in campus facilities.
  12. Assist with special cleaning tasks and projects as assigned.
  13. Adhere to department policies and procedures at all times.
  14. Maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with team members.
  15. Continuously strive to improve the overall cleanliness and appearance of campus facilities.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Custodial Worker At Florida State University Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Basic Knowledge And Skills In Reading, Writing, And Math.

  • Experience In Custodial Work: Previous Experience In Custodial Or Janitorial Work Is Preferred For This Position. This Includes Knowledge Of Cleaning Procedures, Operation Of Cleaning Equipment, And Handling Of Cleaning Chemicals.

  • Physical Fitness: The Job Of A Custodial Worker At Florida State University Requires Physical Strength And Stamina. Candidates Should Be Able To Stand For Long Periods, Lift Heavy Objects, And Perform Repetitive Tasks. A Pre-Employment Physical Assessment May Be Required.
