  1. Greet and welcome patients, faculty, and staff to the university health center with a warm and friendly attitude.
  2. Schedule appointments and manage the patient appointment system efficiently.
  3. Verify and update patient information, including insurance and personal details.
  4. Collect and process patient payments, including copays and deductibles.
  5. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  6. Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance coverage.
  7. Prepare and maintain patient medical records in an accurate and organized manner.
  8. Assist healthcare providers with patient exams, procedures, and treatments as needed.
  9. Perform basic medical procedures, such as taking vital signs and administering medications, under the direction of a healthcare provider.
  10. Keep exam rooms and waiting areas clean, stocked, and organized.
  11. Answer phones, respond to emails, and handle inquiries from patients, faculty, and staff in a professional and timely manner.
  12. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  13. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on medical procedures, policies, and regulations.
  14. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, faculty, and staff, ensuring their needs are met with compassion and empathy.
  15. Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all interactions.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program Or Equivalent Training In Medical Office Procedures.

  • Certification As A Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Registered Medical Assistant (Rma) Through A Recognized Organization Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or American Medical Technologists (Amt).

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Office Procedures, And Electronic Medical Record Systems.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills, With The Ability To Interact With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Staff In A Professional And Courteous Manner.

  • Understanding Of Hipaa Regulations And Patient Privacy Laws, With The Ability To Maintain Strict Confidentiality Of Patient Information.
