Job Description

Are you a skilled investigator with a passion for protecting assets and preventing loss? If so, Five Below is seeking an Asset Protection Specialist to join our team! As an Asset Protection Specialist - Investigations, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of our stores and merchandise. We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. If you have experience in asset protection and a commitment to upholding company policies and procedures, we would love to hear from you!

  1. Conduct thorough investigations into any potential loss or theft of company assets.
  2. Utilize surveillance equipment and other tools to monitor and detect suspicious activity.
  3. Collaborate with store management and other team members to identify and address potential security risks.
  4. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all investigations and related incidents.
  5. Develop and implement strategies to prevent loss and protect company assets.
  6. Train and educate store associates on proper security procedures and protocols.
  7. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in asset protection technology.
  9. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement and legal representatives.
  10. Maintain a professional and customer-focused demeanor while handling sensitive and potentially confrontational situations.
  11. Proactively identify and address potential security vulnerabilities within the store.
  12. Adhere to all safety and security regulations and protocols.
  13. Collaborate with other departments, such as HR and Operations, to ensure consistent and effective asset protection practices throughout the company.
  14. Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve upon current asset protection procedures and protocols.

Job Qualifications

  • Strong Analytical Skills: An Asset Protection Specialist - Investigations Must Be Able To Analyze Data And Information To Identify Potential Issues Or Discrepancies That Could Impact The Company's Assets.

  • Experience In Loss Prevention: Candidates For This Role Should Have Prior Experience In Loss Prevention, Preferably In A Retail Setting. They Should Be Familiar With Loss Prevention Techniques And Have A Proven Track Record Of Reducing Shrinkage.

  • Knowledge Of Security Systems: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Good Understanding Of Security Systems, Including Cctv, Alarm Systems, And Access Control. They Should Be Able To Troubleshoot And Maintain These Systems To Ensure They Are Functioning Properly.

  • Attention To Detail: Asset Protection Specialists Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Identify Potential Risks Or Threats To The Company's Assets. They Should Be Able To Follow Procedures And Protocols To Mitigate These Risks.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: This Role Requires Frequent Communication With Store Management, Law Enforcement, And Other Stakeholders. The Candidate Should Have Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Report And Document Incidents And Investigations.
