  1. Design, develop, and maintain Open VMS systems for First Data's payment processing and technology solutions.
  2. Monitor and troubleshoot system performance and take necessary actions to optimize and ensure reliability.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement enhancements and upgrades to the Open VMS systems.
  4. Act as a subject matter expert on Open VMS systems, providing technical guidance and support to other team members.
  5. Conduct regular system audits and implement security measures to protect against potential threats.
  6. Create and maintain documentation for all system configurations and processes.
  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and trends in Open VMS technology and make recommendations for implementation.
  8. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and be available for urgent system issues.
  9. Proactively identify and resolve any system errors or issues that may arise.
  10. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates and status reports on system maintenance and upgrades.
  11. Take ownership of assigned projects and deliver them within agreed timelines.
  12. Maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.

Job Qualifications

  • Proficiency In Open Vms Operating System: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding And Hands-On Experience With The Open Vms Operating System, Including Its Architecture, System Administration, And Troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge Of Vms Utilities And Tools: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Knowledge Of The Various Utilities And Tools Available In Open Vms, Such As Dcl, Rms, And Decnet, And Be Able To Effectively Use Them To Perform System Maintenance And Tasks.

  • Experience In System Integration: A Successful Open Vms Engineer Should Have Experience In Integrating Different Systems And Applications On The Open Vms Platform, As Well As With Other Operating Systems.

  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: As An Open Vms Engineer, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Identifying And Resolving Complex System Issues. Therefore, They Should Possess Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Troubleshoot And Resolve Technical Problems Quickly And Efficiently.

  • Knowledge Of Security Protocols And Procedures: Open Vms Engineers Should Have A Good Understanding Of Security Protocols And Procedures To Ensure The System's Integrity And To Protect Sensitive Data From Potential Threats. They Should Also Be Able To Implement And Maintain Security Measures To Safeguard The System From External Attacks.
