- Monitor and maintain the overall health and functionality of the data center facilities, including power and cooling systems, security systems, and environmental controls.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure that all equipment and systems are operating at optimal levels.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with data center equipment, systems, or infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform preventative maintenance and upgrades as needed.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for data center operations, including emergency response protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, as well as equipment inventory.
- Monitor and report on data center performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to data center facilities management.
- Respond to and resolve any urgent or critical issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Adhere to all safety and security protocols to protect the integrity and confidentiality of the data center environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal teams and external clients, addressing any concerns or inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Participate in on-call rotations and be available for after-hours and weekend support as needed.
- Continuously seek opportunities to optimize data center operations and implement cost-saving measures.
- Train and mentor junior team members to ensure a high level of technical expertise within the data center facilities team.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with team members and other departments within the organization.
Knowledge Of Data Center Operations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Data Center Operations, Including Power And Cooling Systems, Cabling Infrastructure, And Server Hardware.
Experience With Facility Maintenance: A Data Center Facilities Technician Should Have Experience With Facility Maintenance, Including Electrical, Hvac, And Plumbing Systems. This Will Ensure The Smooth Operation And Maintenance Of The Data Center.
Familiarity With Data Center Standards And Regulations: A Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Data Center Standards And Regulations, Such As Ansi/Tia/Eia-942 And Nfpa 70, To Ensure Compliance And Safety In The Data Center.
