This role requires a thorough understanding of title search, examination, and curative processes, as well as strong communication and organizational skills.   1. Conduct thorough title searches and examinations to identify any potential issues or defects.
  2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of title reports and documentation.
  3. Review and interpret legal documents such as deeds, mortgages, and easements.
  4. Communicate any title issues or concerns with relevant parties, including clients and underwriters.
  5. Lead and supervise a team of title examiners, providing guidance and support as needed.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry regulations, laws, and best practices related to title examination.
  7. Collaborate with other departments and team members to resolve complex title issues.
  8. Utilize various software and databases to perform title searches and examinations.
  9. Manage workload and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.
  10. Train and mentor new title examiners on company processes and procedures.
  11. Conduct quality control checks on title reports and ensure compliance with company standards.
  12. Maintain organized and accurate records of all title examination activities.
  13. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  14. Provide exceptional customer service to clients and respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
  15. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Title Examination: The Ideal Candidate For The Lead Ca Title Examiner (Remote) Position At First American Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Title Examination. This Experience Should Include Reviewing Title Reports, Identifying And Resolving Title Issues, And Preparing Title Commitments.

  • Strong Knowledge Of California Real Estate Laws: As The Lead Ca Title Examiner (Remote), The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Laws And Regulations Governing Real Estate Transactions In California. This Includes Knowledge Of State-Specific Title Requirements, Recording Procedures, And Lien Laws.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills: Since This Is A Leadership Position, The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills. They Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Team Members, Clients, And Other Stakeholders, As Well As Provide Guidance And Direction To Their Team.

  • Proficiency In Title Examination Software: First American Utilizes Various Title Examination Software, Including Datatrace And Titlepoint. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Proficient In Using These Software Programs And Have A Strong Understanding Of Their Capabilities.

  • Attention To Detail And Analytical Thinking: As A Lead Ca Title Examiner (Remote), The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Title Examiners And Reviewing Their Work. Therefore, It Is Essential That The Candidate Has A Keen Eye For Detail, Strong Analytical Skills, And The Ability To Identify And Resolve Complex Title Issues.
