- Develop and implement DevOps strategies to improve the efficiency and scalability of our systems and applications.
- Lead a team of DevOps engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation opportunities for software delivery and infrastructure management.
- Continuously monitor and improve the performance, reliability, and security of our systems.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in DevOps and make recommendations for improvements.
- Work closely with developers to ensure code is properly tested, integrated, and deployed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to deployment, infrastructure, and application performance.
- Develop and maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and configurations.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for production incidents.
- Continuously review and improve existing processes to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Identify and implement tools and technologies to automate and streamline our DevOps processes.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Mentor and train junior DevOps team members.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to management.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback for improvements.
Strong Technical Background: A Principal Devops Engineer At Fis Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Various Technologies And Tools Used In Devops, Such As Automation Scripting, Containerization, And Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (Ci/Cd) Pipelines.
Experience With Cloud Computing: Fis Utilizes Cloud Computing Extensively, So A Principal Devops Engineer Should Have In-Depth Knowledge And Experience Working With At Least One Major Cloud Platform, Such As Aws, Azure, Or Google Cloud.
Leadership Skills: This Role Involves Leading And Managing A Team Of Devops Engineers, So Strong Leadership Skills Are Essential. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate, Delegate Tasks, And Motivate Team Members To Meet Project Goals.
Problem-Solving Skills: A Principal Devops Engineer Should Be Able To Quickly Identify And Troubleshoot Complex Technical Issues That Arise During The Development And Deployment Process. They Should Also Be Able To Propose And Implement Effective Solutions To Prevent Similar Problems From Occurring In The Future.
