  1. Monitor and analyze complex systems to identify potential issues and proactively address them.
  2. Utilize expertise in Nagios, Splunk, and Zabbix to ensure the stability and reliability of systems.
  3. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve system issues and implement improvements.
  4. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  5. Develop and maintain documentation and procedures for monitoring and troubleshooting systems.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in monitoring and observability tools.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve system alerts and escalations in a timely manner.
  8. Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management regarding system performance and any potential risks.
  9. Implement and manage monitoring tools in a complex environment.
  10. Continuously monitor and improve system performance and recommend enhancements as needed.
  11. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and security when handling sensitive system information.
  12. Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement disaster recovery plans.
  13. Train and mentor junior team members on monitoring and observability best practices.
  14. Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical system issues.
  15. Take ownership of system incidents and provide timely updates to stakeholders until resolution.
  16. Adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  17. Proactively identify areas for automation and implement efficient solutions to improve system monitoring and management.
  18. Participate in system upgrades and maintenance activities.
  19. Collaborate with vendors to resolve system issues.
  20. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency within the observability team.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Nagios, Splunk, And Zabbix: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of These Three Tools And Their Functionalities. They Should Be Able To Effectively Set Up And Configure These Tools To Monitor And Analyze Systems And Applications.

  • Experience With Monitoring And Alerting Systems: A Successful Observability Specialist Should Have Prior Experience Working With Various Monitoring And Alerting Systems. This Includes Not Only Nagios, Splunk, And Zabbix, But Also Other Tools Such As Grafana, Prometheus, And New Relic.

  • Strong Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: As An Observability Specialist, The Ability To Troubleshoot And Resolve Issues Quickly And Efficiently Is Essential. The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Identifying And Resolving Complex Technical Problems Within A Monitoring Environment.

This Includes Knowledge Of Servers, Databases, Networks, And Operating Systems.
