- Analyze and evaluate the performance and capacity needs of our mainframe systems to ensure they meet the demands of our growing business.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize mainframe performance and capacity, utilizing your expertise in ZOS performance and capacity management.
- Monitor and track mainframe resource utilization and identify potential areas for improvement or optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess needs, and develop solutions to improve mainframe performance and capacity.
- Create and maintain documentation related to mainframe performance and capacity planning processes and procedures.
- Conduct regular performance and capacity reviews to identify potential issues and proactively address them.
- Work with vendors and external partners to stay up-to-date on the latest mainframe technologies and best practices.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on mainframe performance and capacity and address any concerns or issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance and capacity-related incidents in a timely manner.
- Continuously monitor and analyze data to identify trends and potential risks to mainframe performance and capacity.
- Participate in the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the mainframe environment.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and trends in mainframe performance and capacity management to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
- Mentor and train junior team members on mainframe performance and capacity best practices and processes.
Extensive Experience With Zos Performance And Capacity Management: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Zos Performance And Capacity Management, Including Experience With Tools Such As Ibm Resource Measurement Facility (Rmf) And System Management Facility (Smf).
Strong Analytical Skills: A Mainframe Capacity Planner Must Be Able To Analyze Large Amounts Of Data To Identify Trends, Forecast Future Capacity Needs, And Make Recommendations For Optimizing System Performance.
Knowledge Of Fidelity National Information-Fis Systems: Fidelity National Information-Fis Is A Complex And Highly Specialized Technology Company. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Prior Experience Working With Fis Mainframe Systems And A Strong Understanding Of Their Infrastructure And Processes.
Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Capacity Planner, The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Various Teams And Stakeholders, Including System Administrators, Developers, And Business Leaders. Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Essential For Effectively Managing System Capacity And Performance.
Certifications And Training: Fidelity National Information-Fis May Require Candidates For This Role To Have Specific Certifications Or Training Related To Mainframe Capacity Planning And Performance Management. Examples Include Ibm Certified System Expert – System Z Technical Support And Ibm Certified Specialist – Zos Performance Management.
