As a Digital Accessibility Specialist, you will play a crucial role in promoting inclusion and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.   1. Conduct regular audits and reviews of our digital platforms and services to assess their level of accessibility and compliance with industry standards.
  2. Develop and implement strategies and processes to ensure that our digital products meet accessibility requirements and guidelines, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and content creators, to identify and address accessibility issues in a timely manner.
  4. Serve as a subject matter expert on digital accessibility, staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  5. Conduct training and awareness sessions for employees on digital accessibility, promoting a culture of inclusion and compliance within the company.
  6. Advocate for accessibility in all phases of the design and development process, from concept to launch.
  7. Work closely with third-party vendors and partners to ensure that their products and services meet our accessibility standards.
  8. Monitor and track accessibility metrics and provide regular reports to management, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  9. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure that our digital products meet all necessary regulatory requirements.
  10. Act as a liaison with disability advocacy groups and organizations to gather feedback and insights on our digital accessibility efforts and make continuous improvements.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Accessibility Standards And Guidelines: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Digital Accessibility Standards Such As Wcag And Section 508, As Well As Familiarity With Industry-Specific Guidelines.

  • Experience With Assistive Technologies: A Digital Accessibility Specialist At Fidelity Investments Should Have Experience Working With A Variety Of Assistive Technologies Such As Screen Readers, Magnifiers, And Speech Recognition Software. This Will Enable Them To Effectively Evaluate And Test The Accessibility Of Digital Products.

  • Understanding Of Web Development And Design: In Order To Effectively Address Accessibility Issues, The Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Web Development And Design Principles. This Includes Knowledge Of Html, Css, And Javascript, As Well As Experience With Responsive Design And Mobile Accessibility.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Digital Accessibility Specialist, The Candidate Will Need To Work Closely With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Designers, Developers, And Product Managers. Therefore, Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Experience With Accessibility Audits And Remediation: The Candidate Should Have Experience Conducting Accessibility Audits And Identifying Issues On Digital Platforms. They Should Also Have The Ability To Provide Recommendations And Assist With The Remediation Of Accessibility Barriers. Previous Experience In Conducting User Testing With Individuals With Disabilities Is Also Desirable.
