
Engineering Technician (Civil)
The Federal Highway Administration is seeking an Engineering Technician (Civil) to join our dynamic team. We are looking for an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about civil engineering and highway infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a solid knowledge of civil engineering principles and procedures, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity to work on projects that will help shape the future of our nation’s highway infrastructure.The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field. Knowledge of the principles of civil engineering, including surveying, construction, and traffic engineering, is essential. In addition to this, the ideal candidate must have experience in drafting, CAD, and GIS software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively, are also essential. We are looking for candidates who are motivated to make a difference and who are committed to providing the highest quality of service to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop civil engineering designs and plans for highway infrastructure projects.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and other documentation for projects.
- Conduct surveys, traffic studies, and other analysis related to highway infrastructure projects.
- Draft plans and technical drawings using CAD and GIS software.
- Monitor construction progress and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and technicians on projects.
- Maintain records and files related to the engineering projects.
- Stay up to date on the latest advances in civil engineering technology and techniques.
- Provide excellent customer service and technical support to stakeholders.
- Ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget.
