- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all international trade laws and regulations, including but not limited to export controls, sanctions, and customs requirements.
- Monitor changes in international trade laws and regulations and advise the company on necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the impact of new business initiatives on global trade compliance and provide recommendations for compliance.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of trade compliance processes and procedures to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on global trade compliance policies and procedures.
- Serve as the main point of contact for government agencies, including customs authorities and export control agencies, and ensure timely and accurate reporting and recordkeeping.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external trade compliance consultants and legal counsel to stay updated on industry best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement global trade compliance strategies and initiatives.
- Respond to and resolve compliance issues, inquiries, and investigations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to demonstrate compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.
- Continuously evaluate and improve global trade compliance processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and developments in global trade compliance and make recommendations to senior management on potential impacts to the company.
- Represent the company in external forums and industry associations related to global trade compliance.
- Adhere to the company's code of conduct and ethical standards in all aspects of work.
In-Depth Knowledge Of International Trade Laws And Regulations: A Global Trade Compliance Advisor At Exxon Mobil Must Possess A Strong Understanding Of Trade Laws And Regulations Of Various Countries And Regions, Including But Not Limited To The United States, European Union, And Asia Pacific.
Experience In Managing Trade Compliance Programs: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Developing And Implementing Effective Trade Compliance Programs For Multinational Companies. This Includes Experience In Trade Classification, Export Controls, Sanctions, And Customs Compliance.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: A Global Trade Compliance Advisor Should Be Able To Analyze Complex Trade Compliance Issues And Provide Practical Solutions To Ensure Compliance With Applicable Laws And Regulations. They Should Also Have The Ability To Identify Potential Risks And Develop Risk Management Strategies.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Liaison Between Different Departments Within Exxon Mobil, As Well As With External Stakeholders, The Candidate Must Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills.
