  1. Lead a team of data engineers in building and maintaining the Customer Data Platform.
  2. Use expertise in data engineering to develop and implement strategies for managing and utilizing customer data.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data solutions.
  4. Oversee the design, development, and deployment of data pipelines and systems.
  5. Ensure data quality and integrity through regular monitoring and troubleshooting.
  6. Keep up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve data processes.
  7. Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and leadership to provide updates on project progress and address any issues.
  8. Mentor and develop team members to enhance their technical skills and support their career growth.
  9. Work closely with data analysts and data scientists to provide them with access to high-quality and reliable customer data.
  10. Identify opportunities for data-driven insights and support business decision-making processes.
  11. Develop and maintain documentation for data processes, systems, and tools.
  12. Participate in hiring and onboarding of new team members.
  13. Proactively identify potential risks and issues and implement solutions to mitigate them.
  14. Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with data regulations and security protocols.
  15. Continuously monitor and optimize data processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience In Data Engineering: A Senior Data Engineer At Expedia Group Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Experience Working With Customer Data Platforms And Related Technologies. They Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Data Warehousing, Etl Processes, And Data Modeling.

  • Expertise In Cloud-Based Technologies: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Working With Cloud-Based Technologies Such As Aws, Google Cloud, Or Azure. They Should Have Experience With Building And Maintaining Data Pipelines On These Platforms.

  • Proficiency In Coding Languages: A Senior Data Engineer Should Be Proficient In Coding Languages Such As Sql, Python, Or Java. They Should Be Able To Write Complex Queries And Scripts To Manipulate And Analyze Large Datasets.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Senior Member Of The Team, The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills. They Should Be Able To Work With Cross-Functional Teams And Effectively Communicate Technical Concepts To Non-Technical Stakeholders.

  • Experience With Customer Data Platforms: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Prior Experience Working With Customer Data Platforms Such As Adobe Experience Platform Or Salesforce Dmp. They Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Customer Data And How It Can Be Leveraged For Marketing And Personalization Purposes.
