Director, Legal (IP)

To help us continue to meet that mission, we are seeking an experienced Director, Legal (IP) to join our team.The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of five years of experience in intellectual property law, including patent prosecution and litigation. In addition, the Director, Legal (IP) will have a Juris Doctor degree from a top law school and be admitted to practice in at least one US jurisdiction.The Director, Legal (IP) will play an essential role in protecting Expedia Group’s intellectual property assets. This person will manage external IP counsel, oversee the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, and provide guidance on IP-related legal matters. Responsibilities:

1. Manage external IP counsel and provide legal guidance on all IP-related matters.
2. Oversee the preparation and prosecution of patent applications to protect Expedia Group’s intellectual property assets.
3. Develop and execute IP strategies for the organization.
4. Monitor legal developments and trends in IP law.
5. Advise senior management on IP-related matters.
6. Prepare and review IP agreements and other legal documents.
7. Provide training and guidance to other legal professionals on IP-related matters.
8. Represent the organization in IP-related legal proceedings.
9. Research and analyze IP-related issues.
10. Negotiate settlements related to IP disputes.
