Speech Therapist - Inpatient

At Exeter Hospital, we are looking for an experienced Inpatient Speech Therapist to join our dedicated team. This role requires an individual with a compassionate, patient-centered approach, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing quality care. The successful candidate will possess a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, a valid BC Speech-Language Pathology license, and a minimum of two years of experience as a Speech Therapist in an inpatient setting. Responsibilities:

• Provide speech therapy services to inpatients in accordance with best practices and hospital regulations
• Evaluate speech and language abilities of patients, set treatment goals, and create individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on speech-language pathologies and therapies
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
• Document patient progress in electronic medical records in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintain current knowledge of speech-language research and best practices
• Participate in continuing education activities to maintain BC Speech-Language Pathology license
