- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Esri's real-time and big data systems, including their architecture, functionality, and performance metrics.
- Design and implement reliable, fault-tolerant solutions to ensure high availability and scalability of the real-time and big data systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure new features and updates are delivered with high quality and adhere to reliability standards.
- Continuously evaluate and improve system processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to real-time and big data technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our systems.
- Act as a subject matter expert for real-time and big data systems, providing guidance and support to other team members and stakeholders.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to critical incidents in a timely and effective manner.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, test, and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Proactively identify potential issues and make recommendations for improvements to prevent future incidents.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain system stability.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on system status, changes, and improvements.
- Adhere to security best practices and ensure systems are compliant with regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of system monitoring and alerting tools.

Strong Understanding Of Real-Time Systems: A Successful Site Reliability Engineer Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Real-Time Systems And How They Function. This Includes Experience Working With Real-Time Data Processing, Event-Driven Architecture, And High Availability Systems.
Extensive Experience With Big Data Technologies: In Order To Effectively Manage And Optimize Large Datasets, A Site Reliability Engineer Should Have Experience With Big Data Technologies Such As Hadoop, Spark, And Kafka. They Should Also Be Familiar With Data Streaming And Distributed Computing Techniques.
Proficient In Scripting And Automation: As A Critical Aspect Of Ensuring System Reliability And Scalability, A Site Reliability Engineer Should Have Strong Scripting Skills And Experience With Automation Tools Such As Ansible, Puppet, Or Chef. This Allows For Efficient Management Of Infrastructure And Quick Response To Issues.
Expertise In Cloud Computing: With Esri's Focus On Cloud Technology, A Site Reliability Engineer Should Have Extensive Knowledge And Experience With Cloud Computing Platforms Such As Aws, Azure, Or Google Cloud.
