- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.
- Assist patients with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and patient's overall condition.
- Respond to patient's needs promptly and with compassion.
- Ensure patient safety by following all safety protocols and reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in patient education and provide support and guidance to patients and their families.
- Maintain a clean and organized patient care environment.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Remain current on all relevant healthcare regulations and guidelines.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude at all times.
- Continuously strive to improve patient care and services.
Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Care Tech At Ernest Health Must Have At Least A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Be Considered For The Role. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Academic Concepts And Can Handle The Demands Of The Job.
Current Certification As A Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Or Medical Assistant (Ma): As A Patient Care Tech, Having A Cna Or Ma Certification Is Highly Preferred. This Shows That The Candidate Has Received Formal Training And Is Competent In Providing Basic Patient Care.
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Skilled Nursing Facility, Is Highly Valued For A Patient Care Tech Position At Ernest Health. This Demonstrates The Candidate's Familiarity With The Healthcare Environment And Their Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced, High-Stress Environment.
Knowledge Of Basic Medical Terminology And Procedures: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Is Essential For A Patient Care Tech. This Includes Knowledge Of Common Medical Abbreviations And The Ability To Accurately Document Patient Information.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Patient Care Techs At Ernest Health Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members. This Includes Being Able To Communicate Clearly And Compassionately, As Well As Being Able To Work Well In A Team Environment.
