
COTA - Per Diem

We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a per diem basis. - Provide exceptional patient care: The primary responsibility of a COTA at Ernest Health is to provide high-quality, compassionate care to our patients. This includes assisting with daily activities, administering treatments and interventions, and monitoring progress.
- Collaborate with the occupational therapy team: The COTA will work closely with the occupational therapist and other members of the therapy team to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the individual needs of each patient.
- Assist with patient evaluations: The COTA will help to evaluate patients' functional abilities and limitations in order to determine the most effective treatment approach.
- Implement treatment plans: Based on the occupational therapist's recommendations, the COTA will carry out specific interventions and exercises to help patients improve their motor skills, coordination, and independence.
- Monitor and document progress: It is the responsibility of the COTA to track and document patients' progress and provide regular updates to the therapy team and other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care.
- Provide education and support: The COTA will educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and how to continue therapy exercises at home. They will also provide emotional support and encouragement to help patients reach their goals.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment: The COTA is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean treatment environment for patients, including proper use and maintenance of therapy equipment.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards: As a healthcare professional, the COTA is expected to abide by ethical and legal standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Attend training and professional development opportunities: To stay current with new techniques and technologies, the COTA will participate in training and continuing education opportunities as required.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and team mentality: The COTA should have a strong work ethic and be willing to work collaboratively with the therapy team and other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for patients.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills
Associate's Degree In Occupational Therapy From An Accredited Institution
Current State License Or Certification As An Occupational Therapy Assistant
Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience Working As A Cota In A Healthcare Setting
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team To Provide High-Quality Patient Care.
