- Develop and implement EHS strategies and initiatives for regional and CU operations in line with company goals and objectives.
- Oversee and manage EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Lead and mentor a team of EHS professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure a strong EHS culture within the organization.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into business processes and decision-making.
- Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices to continuously improve EHS practices within the organization.
- Foster a culture of safety by promoting awareness, training, and engagement at all levels of the organization.
- Communicate and liaise with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance and promote a positive company image.
- Develop and manage EHS budgets and resources to support the successful implementation of EHS initiatives.
- Conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future incidents.
- Represent Ericsson in EHS-related meetings, conferences, and events to share knowledge and best practices with industry peers.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness of EHS programs and processes, adapting to changing business needs and regulatory requirements.
- Champion sustainability initiatives and support the company's commitment to environmental stewardship.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for EHS excellence, inspiring others to prioritize safety and environmental responsibility in their daily work.
Extensive Knowledge Of Environmental, Health, And Safety Regulations: The Ehs Director Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations Related To Environmental Protection, Workplace Safety, And Occupational Health. This Includes Knowledge Of Relevant Laws, Codes, And Standards As Well As Experience With Regulatory Compliance.
Experience In Managing Ehs Programs At A Regional Or National Level: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Overseeing Ehs Programs At A Large Scale, Preferably In A Multi-Site Or Multi-State Environment. This Includes Developing Policies And Procedures, Conducting Audits And Inspections, And Managing Incidents And Emergencies.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Leader Of The Ehs Function, The Director Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Engage With Employees, Management, And External Stakeholders. They Should Also Possess Strong Leadership Skills To Develop And Motivate A Team Of Ehs Professionals Across Different Locations.
Technical Expertise In Ehs Management: The Ehs Director Must Have A Strong Technical Background In Environmental, Health, And Safety Management. This Includes Knowledge Of Risk Assessment, Incident Investigation, Hazard Identification, And Control Measures. They Should Also Have Expertise In Implementing And Managing Ehs Management Systems.
Business Acumen And Strategic Thinking: The Ehs Director Should Have A Good Understanding Of The Business Operations And Goals Of The Organization. They Should Be Able To Align Ehs Strategies With The Company's Objectives And Make Strategic Decisions To Improve Ehs Performance And Drive Continuous Improvement.
