Therapy Technician

- Assist in providing therapeutic services to patients under the direction of licensed therapists.
- Work closely with therapists to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Provide hands-on assistance during therapy sessions, including setting up equipment and assisting patients with exercises.
- Monitor patients' progress and report any changes or concerns to therapists.
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy space, ensuring equipment is properly sanitized and stored.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Attend trainings and workshops to continually improve knowledge and skills in therapy techniques.
- Keep accurate records of patient treatments and progress.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Demonstrate a positive and compassionate attitude towards patients, their families, and coworkers.
- Assist in scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient care and services.
- Continually strive to learn and grow in a healthcare setting.
Education And Training: A Therapy Technician At Encompass Health Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. Additional Education Or Training In Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Or Speech Therapy Is Preferred.
Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital, Rehabilitation Center, Or Skilled Nursing Facility, Is Highly Desirable. This Experience Should Include Direct Patient Care And Working In Collaboration With Therapists.
Understanding Of Therapy Techniques And Modalities: A Therapy Technician Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Basic Therapy Techniques And Modalities Used In Physical, Occupational, And Speech Therapy. This Includes Knowledge Of Therapeutic Exercises, Therapeutic Modalities, And Functional Activities.
Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial For A Therapy Technician At Encompass Health. They Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Therapists, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Provide High-Quality Care.
Physical Ability: This Role Requires Physical Stamina And The Ability To Lift And Move Patients As Needed. Candidates Should Be In Good Physical Condition And Able To Stand, Walk, And Bend For Extended Periods Of Time. They Should Also Have The Ability To Operate Therapy Equipment And Assist Patients With Mobility And Functional Activities.
