Job Description

Encompass Health is seeking a Senior Speech Pathologist to join our team and make a difference in the lives of our patients.   1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients with speech and language disorders.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing difficulties.
  3. Provide direct therapy services to patients and monitor their progress.
  4. Mentor and supervise junior speech therapists, providing guidance and support in clinical decision-making and treatment techniques.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  6. Stay up-to-date with current research and advancements in the field of speech pathology and incorporate new techniques and strategies into practice.
  7. Educate patients, their families, and caregivers on speech and language disorders and treatment options.
  8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes.
  9. Serve as a resource and consultant for other healthcare professionals, providing expertise and guidance on speech and language disorders.
  10. Adhere to ethical and professional standards set forth by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state licensing boards.
  11. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  12. Advocate for patients and their needs, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care.
  13. Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement policies and procedures related to speech therapy services.
  14. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to speech therapy services.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to Encompass Health's mission and values, providing person-centered care to all patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology: A Senior Speech Pathologist At Encompass Health Should Possess A Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology From An Accredited University. This Advanced Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In The Field And Demonstrates A Commitment To Continued Learning And Development.

  • Certificate Of Clinical Competence (Ccc): The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha) Offers A Certificate Of Clinical Competence (Ccc) To Speech-Language Pathologists Who Have Completed Academic Coursework And Clinical Practicum. This Certification Is Highly Valued By Employers And Is Often Required For Senior-Level Positions.

  • State Licensure: All Speech-Language Pathologists Must Be Licensed In The State In Which They Practice. A Senior Speech Pathologist At Encompass Health Should Hold A Valid State License And Be In Good Standing With The State Regulatory Board.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience: Encompass Health Is Seeking A Senior-Level Speech Pathologist With A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience. This Level Of Experience Demonstrates A Strong Working Knowledge Of The Field And The Ability To Provide Leadership And Mentorship To Junior Staff.
